Driving
through the eastern part of the crater we saw another car standing near a pride
of lions. Some mintues after we arrived a young lion walked straight to our
car and lay down in the shadow under the car. Within some minutes the whole
pride did the same, including some three months old cubs. I have seen many lions,
but never was so close to them. I had to resist the temptation to touch the
back of this dominant male when he was standing up later.
