This
crocodile on a sandbank in the Grumeti river is by far the biggest and fattest
one I have ever seen in my life. It seems that the resident crocodiles here
only eat in the migration season when floods of wildebeests and zebras cross
the river on their way to the fresh grass on the Serengeti-plains after the
first rains in the long rain season. These Nile crocodiles hardly have to move
to eat as many prey as they can consume.
